Respect India Distributes iPads to Underprivileged Students at Hansraj College on Republic Day
On the occasion of Republic Day, Respect India, in collaboration with the prestigious Hansraj
College (University of Delhi), distributed iPads to academically meritorious yet economically
underprivileged students. These beneficiaries, collectively known as Team Padhaku, were
honoured in a special ceremony held on campus.
The initiative aims to empower students who lack access to modern educational resources by
providing them with essential digital tools. These iPads are expected to help them participate
more actively in academic, social, and cultural activities.
The Chief Guest for the event was Prof. Balram Pani, Dean of Colleges, University of Delhi.
While addressing the gathering, he emphasized that "Padhaku is an initiative to integrate
underserved students into the mainstream academic ecosystem and offer them equal
opportunities." He stressed that "lack of resources should never hinder talent" and advocated
for widespread promotion of such educational programs.
The event was coordinated by Respect India, an organization devoted to educational equity and
cultural empowerment. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rama, Principal of Hansraj College,
highlighted the institution's continued dedication to inclusive and humanitarian initiatives. She
remarked that "Hansraj College has always stood for socially responsible education and is
proud to partner with Respect India."
The event was also graced by Prof. S.R. Bhatt, from the Library Science Department, DU, who
served as the guest of honor.
