The celebration includes curated film screenings, exhibitions of rare photographs and memorabilia, live musical and dance performances, panel discussions, and engagements with artists, scholars, and members of the Kapoor family.
Events will be held across key cultural and cinematic locations including Delhi, Goa, and Mumbai in India, as well as international venues in Mauritius, Uzbekistan, and Singapore, each chosen for their strong historical and cultural connections to Raj Kapoor and Indian cinema.
The celebration is being led by Respect India, a nationally recognized organization for cultural promotion, under the Chairmanship of Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, with Shri Manoj Tiwari, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, and acclaimed filmmaker Shri Rahul Rawail serving as Vice Chairmen.
The Raj Kapoor Centenary Celebration is a year-long national and international tribute to commemorate 100 years since the birth of Shri Raj Kapoor—one of the most iconic figures in Indian cinema. The celebration includes film retrospectives, exhibitions, cultural performances, and global events honoring his legacy.
