Bhopal has been purposefully chosen for this tribute owing to its deep-rooted cultural heritage, historical patronage of the arts, and growing recognition as a center for theatre, cinema, and creative dialogue. As a city that blends tradition with modernity, and one that has long nurtured literary and artistic talent, Bhopal provides a culturally resonant and intellectually rich setting for celebrating the life and legacy of Raj Kapoor.
The event will feature a thoughtfully curated cultural program including screenings of iconic films, exhibitions of rare photographs and memorabilia, insightful panel discussions with filmmakers, theatre personalities, and scholars, as well as live performances inspired by Raj Kapoor’s artistic journey.
Led by Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, with the support of Shri Manoj Tiwari, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, and acclaimed director Shri Rahul Rawail as Vice Chairmen, the Bhopal celebration will pay heartfelt tribute to Raj Kapoor’s enduring influence on cinema and culture.
