Celebrated for his timeless storytelling, powerful social themes, and musical legacy, Raj Kapoor’s contribution to Indian and world cinema remains unparalleled.
Goa has been purposefully chosen for this celebration due to its rich cultural vibrancy, global appeal, and strong cinematic tradition. As home to the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and a thriving community of film lovers, artists, and cultural enthusiasts, Goa offers a fitting and dynamic backdrop for this tribute. The state’s cosmopolitan spirit and deep engagement with the arts make it an ideal destination to celebrate Raj Kapoor’s legacy in a manner that resonates both locally and internationally.
The event will showcase a diverse cultural program, including screenings of Raj Kapoor’s landmark films, exhibitions of rare photographs and memorabilia, engaging panel discussions with filmmakers and scholars, and live musical and artistic performances inspired by his cinematic journey.
Chaired by Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and supported by Shri Manoj Tiwari, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, and renowned filmmaker Shri Rahul Rawail as Vice Chairmen, the Goa celebration aims to honor a cinematic legend while deepening India’s cultural narrative through film and storytelling.
